                                           Laboratory Quality Manager 

As Laboratory Manager, your role as a key member of the company Global Quality team is to provide quality leadership and direction to improve and optimise the laboratory methods and systems on a global basis to ensure consistency of product conformance testing. Your mission will be to drive consistency of our laboratory test equipment and methods by standardising our Lab processes and systems across multiple platforms and sites to ensure brand protection.  

Duties:    

 - Lead the Company Global Laboratory team(GLT) - with specific focus on evaluating and improving the laboratory capability at each site, transferring knowledge through best practice sharing, conducting gap analyses through audits and escalating the visibility of key indicators and initiatives through a GLT scorecard/global report

 - Drive a continuous improvement focus - on equipment, methods, processes and procedures that are utilized in the laboratories in manufacturing sites processing company products. You will develop and maintain the documentation(standard operating procedures, specifications, alerts, etc.) that pertain to best in class lab practices.

 - Quality Lab site support &ndash you will support the sites by formalising the appropriate levels of maintenance & technical support in agreement with experts from R&D and GE.

  -  Manage the integrity of lab data &ndash that support our Product & Process Conformance focus, you will co-ordinate the Round Robin checks, ensure data analysis and trend reviews to define opportunities for global alignment (using SPC methods, control charts, etc). You will raise the focus on measurement systems accuracy using Gage R&R&rsquos, bias analysis and linearity checks.

 -     Delivery of Lab training - Support the training and certification of lab personnel at the sites processing company products. You will work with R&D, Learning & Development and the receiving sites to ensure that the appropriate competence based training documentation is in place.

 -       Definition of reference equipment &ndash You will work with R&D to define the reference equipment to enable product specifications to be established.

 -     Enhance our Lab Data acquisition systems - Ensure that we have the most appropriate lab data acquisition and management system in place to allow comparative analysis of data & trends across sites

 -     Validations for existing & new analytical equipment - For new analytical instruments that are specific to monitoring photochromic performance &ndash you will work with R&D to ensure that the user requirements are taken into account and to ensure that the instrumentation is fully validated to meet production needs.

-        Laboratory analysis - You will be the Global Quality focal point who will agree with R&D, the Global Mix Lab and other functions to agree the most appropriate site to assist in the evaluation of raw materials, substrate and finished products as well as Competitor offerings.

-      Benchmark with EQC - You will be the company focal point to exchange with the EQC(Essilor Quality Centre) network on emerging trends with Lab equipment, methods, systems & KPI&rsquos.

EDUCATION:

-       Bachelor degree, or higher, in a science discipline

-        8 to 12 years&rsquo experience in a high volume manufacturing facility with strong quality control and quality assurance disciplines

-         Experience of method development, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability analysis

-       Solves problems through the application of appropriate scientific, experimental, and statistical methods.  Application of Six Sigma and similar methods for reducing variation and improving process knowledge.

-      Intellectually sharp, capable and can conceptualize systems and solutions. Pursues improvement projects with energy, drive and a need to finish. 

-   Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access) & Google applications

-       Strong presentation skills, utilizing tools to address opportunities for improvement and experience in providing reports and data analysis to a variety of audiences.
