PROGRAM DIRECTOR- UK Based
The Program Director's primary mission is to put in place the right leadership, teams and processes to ensure the necessary decisions are made to secure customer satisfaction and the business success of all the programs within the division, whilst meeting contractual commitments to the customer and corporate commitments.
The Program Director acts as the point of escalation for the Program Managers and acts as
the functional lead for Programs within the Division.
The Program Director is responsible, through the program Managers, to the site General Managers and to the
Division Vice-President as the guarantor of the business case and profitability of the programs.
 
The Program Director acts as the Voice of the Customer within the business and drives Program actions cross functionally
to ensure the customer relationship.
 
&bull Deliver the required business case results for all programs.
&bull Improve customer satisfaction for all OE customers.
&bull Develop the Program Management team to ensure the business has the right program leaders with the right
skills in place.
&bull Develop and implement robust Program Management processes and governance.
&bull The arbiter in cases of dispute between priorities for the OE customer.
 
Additional description
 
The Program Director is responsible for all programs, which include:
&bull Engineering development budgets, but exclude Research and Technology activity (approx. 20M Euros)
&bull The profitability of all production programs, (43 OE customers, business with sales of approx. more than
250M Euros).
&bull Lead of the Programs team, consisting of circa 25 Program and Project Managers, plus dotted line
responsibility for a large extended program team network. 3 &ndash 4 direct reports.
&bull Programs over 3 separate sites (UK, US and France). Working cross functionally with all functions to ensure
successful programs.
&bull The primary interface with and &ldquovoice&rdquo of the customer within the business.
 
Candidate skills & requirements
 
 &bull Degree level education, with post-graduate qualifications desirable.
&bull Extensive experience of leading complex engineering development programs, with aerospace experience
desirable.
&bull Experience of working cross functionally and ability to get results in a matrix organisation.
&bull Experience of developing customer relationships.
&bull Results driven.
&bull Accountable.
&bull An experienced leader who is able to build teams.
