NPI Purchasing Manager UK Based
Lead a small team od 6 to deliver and support the management of supply chain, consistently and accurately meeting current
and future requirements in terms of business needs, specification and value for money. The aim is to support all areas
of the business, ensuring that parts are delivered on time, in full, at the right cost and to the correct quality. In addition
to mentoring and supporting a team of Buyers the role holder will have direct management of a portfolio of key
-        Leads and manages a team of Buyers to ensure day to day business requirements are met
-        Coach and support team members in processes and practices driving consistency and efficiency across the team
-        Acts as a point of escalation for the team as needed
-        Undertakes key activities to support Procurement Manager in the delivery of: Inventory reduction, Flexible supply chain 100% delivery performance, strategy development, issue resolution and project delivery.
-        Leads activity to optimise inventory levels and to drive demand alignment and supplier execution on reduction of  inventory targets.
-        Alignment and management of the Power KPIs and agreement of KPI's with suppliers each month and resolution of any queries/discrepancies.
-        Assess supplier performance and drive 100% execution of D2 for all suppliers in group ownership. Escalate where necessary to Logistics team to ensure effective processes are implemented to manage demand trigger and the expediting of parts
-        Conduct supplier operational reviews, support strategic reviews, primary interface with Supplier development and Commodity team.
-        Identifies non-performing suppliers and define action plans to get poor performing suppliers from Red to Green across the team.
-        Identification of critical shortages and escalations at the supplier as required by the Procurement manager.
Communicate to customer LOB's, support supplier process engineers to manage supplier technical / quality issues, mitigate impact to business.
-        Challenge current practices to continually drive performance improvement and consistency across the team.
-        Works with Commodity/ NPI team to ensure we effectively manage supplier relationships to drive improvement in quality, cost and delivery.
-        Act as delegate for Procurement Manager in meetings on site and at supplier.

Candidate skills & requirements
Previous experience within an appropriate Supply Chain management role with evidence of increasing responsibilities
-         Formal supply chain qualification ( Ideally CIPS) or equivalent
-         Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels internally and externally.
-        Experienced negotiator with strong influencing skills
-        Good conflict management skills
-        Remains calm under pressure
-        Able to work as part of a team and under own initiative
-        Capable of progressing through the leadership structure with solid people management skills
-        Commercially astute with solid understanding of Supply Chain processes
-        An appreciation and basic understanding of production, engineering and design functions
-        Energy, perseverance and ability to drive through improvements in challenging environment
-       Computer literacy including competence in SAP, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word Ability to identify and propose solutions under own direction
-       Ability to travel to suppliers as required
-       Must have UK residency
