Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer
The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer role is to assure the quality of the articles and services purchased and/or procured by the company and maintain supplier compliance to all SEP requirements.
Supplier ion process
Quality representative responsible for ensuring that all new/ potential suppliers are assessed against the relevant ion procedures and fully meet the standards required by SEP.
Ensure that new/potential suppliers have the necessary skills and measuring equipment competencies to provide SEP with conforming products.
Industrialisation  of products / process:
Ensure the industrialisation  process takes place in compliance with the procedures in force, contributing to industrialisation  launch meetings and formal reviews.
Ensure that FAI (First Article Inspection) report elements of the PVI are formally reviewed and that anomalies are resolved with the suppliers in a timely manner.
Represent quality in the industrial validation process (PVI) that ends with the Final Article Inspection. Organise PVI critical reviews at the suppliers.
Validate Product/ Supplier combinations.
Ensure the relevant Quality Assurance Plan (System, Product, Transfer) has been compiled by the suppliers to the required SEP standards.
Ensure suppliers are compliant to current versions of PS-06-10/ SAFe using the Systems Audits and Compliance
Matrices in force.
Plan and implement the appropriate monitoring actions at the suppliers' (system, products, processes and industrialisation)  as and when necessary.
Investigate supplier non-conformances  and manage supplier through containment, root cause investigation, preventative actions and verified closure in a timely manner.
Ensure corrective and preventive actions have been effectively implemented internally and at the supplier by measuring and monitoring the effectiveness of the actions implemented.
Decide whether or not to approve supplier waiver requests after analysis of the pertinence of the causal analysis and corrective actions.
UK, plus some International travel will be required.
Coordinate and/or participate in the handling of quality crises until they are cleared. Ensure that sub-tier suppliers are formally controlled by the supplier.
Ensure that the suppliers have control over their measurement equipment, tooling, self-inspection, final inspection, etc. Provide the necessary data to enabling passing on non-quality costs to the suppliers,
Represent supplier quality assurance in investigation reporting of supplier non conformances i.e. QRQC etc. Measure and communicate the suppliers' quality performance level and represent quality at supplier performance reviews.
Work closely with SPM team to ensure identified systemic quality issues are reflected in appropriate risk analysis, supplier improvement plans and appropriate surveillance levels agreed and maintained.
Candidate skills & requirements:
Aerospace experience of working with Quality Standards AS9100 revC/ AS9102 etc, Trained/ Qualified Auditor,
Effective written & verbal skills,
Ability to use quality and continuous improvement tools (Process FMEA, Risk analysis, Causal analysis, 8D, SPC etc.) Ability to propose detailed objectives and draw up monitoring plans.
Proficient in use of MS Office software, Excel, Word & PowerPoint,
A strong technical background gained in manufacturing (ideally aerospace or automotive) is essential with education at least degree level,
Ability to use a variety of quality measurement equipment, Micrometer, Vernier's, Shadowgraph, CMM etc. would be also be useful.
Ability to communicate effectively and work with others, Analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills, Assertive and capable of defining priorities,
Know how to position oneself as a customer in relation to the supplier, Organised, Self-motivated, with effective time management skills.
